Notice how the word 'every' takes only singular nouns - everyONE, everyTHING, everyTIME, every STUDENT etc. As 'every' takes only the singular form, the verb, that goes with such expressions, is always 3rd person singular ! -

But if you say "He IS BEING nasty" - it suggests that usually he is NOT nasty, and in the future he will return to his nice self and his 'nastiness' is a short temporary phase (Present continuous for temporary states) -

Agata KurdzielOdpowiedź eksperta: You are right "love" and "like" are not normally used in the present continuous form because they are state verbs. However, we can use the present continuous with some state verbs when we want to emphasise that a situation is temporary, for a period of time around the present.
For example:
The children love having Jean stay with us. (They love it when Jean stays).
The children are loving having Jean stay with us. (Jean is staying with us now). -
