Why study at PROLOG Language School?

As your aim is to study Polish in Poland, the most important reasons are:

1 - we are a language school, which runs its own courses as well as organizes language courses for other institutions in Krakow which also offer Polish as a Foreign Language

2 - we are a school in every sense of the word with own complex infrastructure: - the school is accommodated in two spacious buildings with 12 fully equipped classrooms - an internet corner with two computer stands - wireless internet access available to our students - a library - a staff library - a school garden - a school office which is open all year round, Monday-Friday 7.30 am until 8.30 pm and our staff is always ready to assist you

3 - we offer Polish classes at all levels of proficiency (from A1 to C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) so you will be placed at a level appropriate to your needs and skills

4 - we have been an educational centre for 14 years now. In those 14 years we have gathered a lot of experience in teaching Polish as a foreign language and developing materials

5 - we have been developing our own teaching programmes

6 - we have published our own series of books (the first complete series of course books preparing for the first certificate exam at the PL-B1 level) for learning Polish as a foreign language. It is the Hurra!!! series which has already been introduced at secondary schools in Germany as well as at universities and colleges in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Japan, Luxembourg, Russia, US, UK, and Sweden. Also, several Polish schools (state and private) teach from our books. The Polish Ministry of Education recommends this series on its website:
www.men.gov.pl/polonia/pomoc_dydakt/hurra.php).

7 - we also specialize in teaching English and German as foreign languages. The fact that teachers of various language backgrounds meet and mingle allows them to exchange their points of view and ideas, share their experiences and support each other in solving problems

8 - we teach on the basis of the communicative approach. That makes our classes available to native-speakers of all languages since Polish is used as the language of instruction from the very beginning. The student’s advantage is that s/he begins to use Polish at a very early stage of the learning process. The communicative approach sets forth a maximum linguistic activity by students every step of their language learning process

9 - we are very much aware of the advantages of a constant improvement process. For this reason, we continue to improve our teaching methods and teaching materials along with advances in foreign language pedagogy

10 - we take part in congresses, conferences and workshops on teaching methods and on foreign language pedagogy to stay up-to-date with the most recent developments in the field of language acquisition and teaching

11 - our school cooperates with Longman, Hueber, Langenscheidt and City& Guilds which helps our teachers to develop their skills and raise their qualifications

12 - we have worked out our own efficient placement system which helps us place students at their appropriate levels. The system is based on the requirements of CEFR and is additionally combined with a language needs analysis of individual students

13 - we have worked out our own system for teacher recruitment as well as teacher observation and evaluation criteria

14 - recently we have worked out our own system of student evaluations (student profile) which our Polish language students receive with their final certificate. This profile supports students in their post-course learning process as it points out student strengths and weaknesses (this profile is developed on the basis of CEFR)
A few serious reasons why it is worth and sensible to study at PROLOG:
Financial reasons:
Our prices are very competitive as we guarantee:
- a minimum of 4 classes a day (which is not a rule at other schools)
- the course fee includes: Polish language classes, books, additional consultation hours, a placement test, a final test, a students profile, certificate, extracurricular activities, a guide’s assistance
- we also offer a wide range of discounts (check under: PAYMENTS) so you end up paying less.

For a reasonable (additional) price we can offer you good quality accommodation either close to school or in the city centre. This is what we are very much concerned about and we check each place personally before we offer it to students.

Practical reasons:
- we offer intensive Polish language courses (45 - 50 classes in a two week session) over eight months in a year (February – April, June - October) so you can easily find a session that suits your timetable
- you can combine the sessions i.e. start from the second week of the ongoing course and continue through the first week of a new course (available only to non-beginners)
- a simple registration procedure (can be done through e-mail)
- we can arrange your accommodation in Krakow (and there are several options to choose from, check under ACCOMMODATION).
